Georgia loves to paint outdoors and her work is a reflection of her emotional response to the world around her, painting subjects in an expressive manner. Starting in the studio, she shows us a variety of techniques which she then uses in her paintings en plein air. Her subjects include a lovely kitchen garden, the rolling Cotswold landscape and the fascinating ruins at Minster Lovell. She also paints a studio painting of flowers to further demonstrate some of these techniques.
Georgia grew up in California and moved to Australia in 1984. Having completed a BA in Communication Studies at CSU Sacramento, Georgia feels painting is another level of communication that goes well beyond words.
She is a popular tutor and teaches painting workshops all around the world, including Australia, Italy, France, Portugal, Croatia, USA and the UK. She has work in public and private collections worldwide.

Mudgee artist Georgia Mansur will present a series of workshops at the Emirates Wolgan Valley Resort & Spa in May.
Emirates Wolgan Valley Resort & Spa is launching several intimate art and photography workshops throughout May and June 2014 that are set to be inspired by the resort’s dramatic natural beauty and abundant native Australian wildlife.
Following the success of the resort’s inaugural Artist-in-Residence program, local landscape artist Georgia Mansur will once again return to the resort to deliver art classes for guests. Aimed at beginners and improvers, Georgia will combine her local and international experience to teach watercolour techniques that develop guests’ artistic skills.
“It is wonderful to be returning to Wolgan as the Artist-in-Residence after helping create the blueprint for this event in 2012. This is such a special part of the world – the remoteness, open spaces, incredible landscapes, native wildlife and heritage effortlessly invoke creativity. My art classes are all about meeting like-minded people, creative self-expression, and appreciating the stunning surroundings, and are equally suited to those who have never picked up a paintbrush to those who are looking to improve their skills,” Mrs Mansur said.
For the first time, Emirates Wolgan Valley Resort & Spa will have a Photographer-in-Residence to coincide with the art program. Lauren Bath, Australia’s only professional instagrammer with over 300,000 Instagram followers, will lead the interactive photography workshops. Participants will have the chance to explore the 4,000 acre conservation and wildlife reserve as they learn handy photography techniques and Lauren’s top tips for Instagram.
“I am very excited about this opportunity to work with Emirates Wolgan Valley Resort & Spa. Having only started taking photography seriously two years ago, I hope to show guests that they too can significantly improve their shooting style quickly with some simple tips and tricks. I am passionate about sharing my newfound knowledge and love for photography and social media with others,” Ms Bath said.
To book for either the Artist-in-Residence program in May or the Photographer-in-Residence program in June, contact Emirates Wolgan Valley Resort & Spa on 9290 9733.

'Originally from California, in 1984 Georgia Mansur moved with her husband to Australia to develop a cotton farm, and there started painting her rhapsodic landscapes to cope with an isolated new life in the outback. Although she has obviously acclimated to her new environment, a residual sense of loneliness amid great distances still invests her strong oils and lyrical watercolors with a haunting beauty.'

They had the picture drawn up before starting to paint and after finishing officially, they spent a bit of time fine tuning the painting. It was impossible to tell which bits were painted by Joseph and which by Herman. Both artists generously donated their time and energy to raise funds for art student scholarships. The result was impressive and sold at auction for $5,800.
